Mothers Union
Supporting family life
St. Peter’s Mothers’ Union aims to support marriage and family life, help those who face adversity and maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer. At St. Peter’s we do this by praying for couples in the lead up to their wedding day, promoting the Bye Buy Childhood and 16 Days campaigns, supporting local women’s refuges, having various roles with in the family of St. Peter’s and fundraising for worldwide Mothers’ Union projects.
Our meetings which take place on the 3rd Thursday at 1.30pm, include updates on Mothers’ Union, songs and prayer, guest speakers, looking at our faith in action, and social events.
MU:Engage
MU Engage is a group for women run by the St. Peter’s branch of the Mothers’ Union. Whatever walk of life you’re in right now – married, single, divorced or widowed – we want to offer you the opportunity to join us. You don’t even have to be a mother to come either! We meet in church on alternate Tuesdays for refreshments, followed by discussion influenced by a variety of sources – including Christian literature, Bible texts, newspaper and magazine articles. We talk about all sorts – idols and materialism, trusting God, types of anger, prejudice and contentment. We also share our joys or concerns in life, drawing on the wealth of experiences within the group to help each other with any problems. The meetings finish with a time of prayer. Find out more
